My cat

Cats are my single greatest passion. My interest in cats is not limited to any one breed, but to the feline species in general. From their anatomy and their origin to their extraordinary sensory abilities, these creatures fascinate me through and through.

For example, I find it remarkable that cats have an augmented spatial awareness, are expert at estimating distances and have a 220-degree angle of vision. Their hearing is capable of outstanding feats, with a frequency range of 10.5 octaves. And why is it that cats are rarely afraid of heights, and always manage to land on their paws when they fall? Their somewhat underdeveloped olfactory capabilities are redeemed by a strong tactile sense, which is made possible by receptors all over their paws, whiskers, lips and entire body.

I find cats, with all their secret ways, to be some of the most fascinating creatures around. I want to further explore their secrets, and I enjoy the feeling that this wonderful animal appreciates and respects me.
