I was born in Cambridge, England, and lived until 18 in Haslingfield a small village 5 miles SW of Cambridge, UK and was educated at Byron House School. Fawcett Junior School, and the Cambridgeshire High School for Boys (scholarship) (later Hills Road Sixth Form College). I went to Edinburgh University, the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA) and the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). Whilst in Canada I worked for the Centre for Urban and Community Studies at the University of Toronto for Professor Larry Bourne, and for Maurice Yeates, at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario.

 

My specialism is the application of geospatial technologies to marine and coastal environments and precision viticulture. Specialist applications include vegetation mapping, coastal and marine environments, the geography of viticulture, and vineyard management.

 

I am a specialist in UAV and drone technology.

 

Additional areas of specialist knowledge include: Precision Viticulture, GIS in Schools, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, journalistic cartography, model aircraft photography, and domestic animal tracking using GPS and video cameras.

 

I organise conferences and workshops, and have published a number of books, journal papers, magazine articles, newsletters, and monographs.

My mother Eileen G. Green (1924-2020) was an artist, from Cambridge, England, UK
